Dennis Leonard goes the distance scattering six hits in a complete game win for the Royals. Cowens, McRae and Patek all had two hits each for KC. Cowens hit a solo homer in the 5th. Morgan had two hits for the Reds in the loss. The Royals led 4-2 after five innings and that was enough for Leonard.

The Reds jumped out to an early 3-0 lead only to see KC tie the game up the 5th inning. Cowens hit an RBI triple that knotted the game up. But it wasn't tied long as the Reds scored three in their half of the 5th and never looked back. Foster delivered the crushing blow with a three run homer. Rose, Griffey, Morgan and Foster all had two hits. Mayberry homered for Kansas City.

It was the hometown Royals that jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in this one, but the Reds then scored nine runs over the next four innings to catch and then blow past the Royals. Home Runs by Rose, Concepcion and Griffey helped lead the way. Griffey, Foster and Concepcion all had three hits. Foster drove in three. Zachry gets the complete game win. Bird the loss.

The Reds jumped on KC starter Splitorff for three runs in the first inning. Foster's RBI single in the third made it 4-0. It stayed that way until the 7th and that's when KC finally fought back. The Royals scored four runs, all with two outs to tie the game. Patek drove in two with a single and Martinez followed that with a two run game tying homer. In the top of the 9th, Bench hit an RBI single off of Sadecki to put the Reds up 5-4. KC wasn't giving up though as Solaita's RBI double in the bottom of the 9th off of Sarmiento tied the game back up. Patin came on for the 10th and gave up an RBI single to Lum, putting the Reds back up 6-5. Eastwick came on and shut the door on KC in the 10th. Griffey had three hits. Mayberry had three hits as well.

The Royals jumped out to a 5-2 lead after three innings and held on for a 5-4 win sending the series back to Cincinnati for a sixth game. Otis hit a two run homer in the first, Martinez hit a solo homer in the second and White drove in two with a single in the third. Leonard got the win (3-0 in post season) and Littell got the save. Griffey had three hits and a homer and Morgan had three hits as well.

Cincinnati wins series 4-2
The Royals got one in the first for a quick 1-0 lead, but the Reds scored five runs over the next few innings to build a 5-3 that they would not relinquish. They go on to win 5-4 and take the series from Kansas City earning the crown of 1976 World Champions. Cowens had three hits in the loss. Billingham (3-0 in post season) the win. Foster and Geronimo each had three hits in the win.

Ken Griffey is the winner of the 1976 World Series MVP award. Ken batted an amazing .565 for the series. His 13 hits and 10 runs and two homers led the team. He drove in four and walked six times.
