Arizona scores four in the 4th, two in the 5th and three in 7th to blow out the Reds in game one 11-0. Daniel Hudson spins eight innings of four hit, shutout ball to get the win. He also hit a solo homer off of Bronson Arroyo. Willie Bloomquist hit a three run homer.

Chris Young hit a three run homer in the 3rd to put Arizona up 3-0. Jay Bruce finally got the Reds on the board with a two run single. David Hernandez comes on for Arizona in the 9th. Ryan Hanigan leads off with an infield single and Hernandez throws the ball away letting Hanigan take second. Renteria pops out and Stubbs strikes out. Brandon Phillips then comes thru with a single to tie the game. It stays scoreless until the 14th. With a man on third and one out Young doubles the go ahead run in. Wade Miley finishes of the Reds and the Diamondbacks take a 2-0 series lead back home.

I guess this game makes things even for the blowout Arizona put on the Reds in game one. Johnny Cueto pitches a five hit, complete game shutout and the Reds bats rough up Saunders and Putz. Bruce has four hits, including a homer and knocks in four. Every Reds batter has at least one hit, including Cueto.

Arizona had a 2-0 lead after four innings. The Reds got one in the 5th and then took the lead in the 6th. Phillips RBI single tied it and Bruce's solo homer put them in front 3-2. Cairo's RBI single in the 8th made it 4-2. Upton doubled in a run in the bottom of the 8th to make it a one run game. Ramon Hernandez led of the 9th with a solo homer to make it 5-3. Francisco Cordero pitched an uneventful 9th and the series was tied at 2-2.

Finally the home team wins a game in this series. Stephen Drew hit a two run homer in the first to put Arizona up 2-0. It stayed that score until the 6th. Votto singled in a run and then Bruce hit a two run homer to put the Reds up 3-2. The lead didn't last long as Ryan Roberts two run homer in the ottom half put Arizona back on top 4-3. Drew hit his second homer, a solo shot in the bottom of the 8th and that's how it ended. Arizona leads 3-2 heading back to Cincinnati.

Ryan Roberts leads off the game for Arizona with a solo homer off of Mike Leake. Bruce ties the game with a solo homer in the second. In the 4th, Arizona loads the bases with one out. Nady hits into a fielders choice and a run scores to make it 2-1 Arizona. In the 8th, Upton hits a solo homer to make it 3-1. Ian Kennedy is solid through 8 innings and turns the ball over to David Hernandez in the 9th. Phillips leads off with a double, but then Votto and Bruce strikeout. Cairo walks to keep the Reds alive, but Heisey strikes out to end the game and the series.
